fpassistant ais – aeronautical information systems

Description

FPAssistant is a state of the art multi-user real-time AIS-Aeronautical Information Services product. It provides its users access to Airspace Navigation Data, Electronic Charts, Paperless AIP-Airport Information Publications, Flight Planning, NOTAMs - Notice to Airmen, Aeronautical Graphic and Text Weather Information and Maps.

FPAssistant allows Single Point of Contact Pre-Flight Briefing. The suite is flexible and portable (Internet Based) and is easily customized to each client’s requirement. It offers ideally suited solutions to a variety of airline industry operations such as Airports and its Flight Service Stations and Pilots

FPAssistant provides a high-quality visual and graphical interface to the process of flight planning, validation of routes per approved aeronautical standards, and the storage and submission of plans to ATC centers.

FPAssistant includes an Electronic Airspace Database (EAD) of airspace resources with location and status information of Airports, TMAs, Airspace Sectors, NAVAIDS, Airways and Fixes, Restricted, Prohibited and Danger Areas, Obstructions and other Airspace related objects.

Airport information includes but is not limited to location (lat/long) and elevation, control tower status, air traffic pattern and altitude, runway information such to dimensions, weight and performance limitations, headings, magnetic variations, current radio frequencies for Ground, Approach, Departure, Clearance Delivery and Emergency. NAVAIDs are grouped by type, class, frequency and availability.

Aeronautical and Meteorological Information including Graphical (satellite or meteorological radar) Charts, Meteorological Textual Information - NOTAMs, METARs, TAFs, PIREPs and WIND are integrated in AmazonTech’s FPAssistant, providing aeronautical and meteorological data for each location of intended Flight Plan route.

FPAssistant’s integration with Flow Management Units helps users define a realistic EOBT, ETA and route of flight for their Flight Plan. The FMS (Flow Management System) component presents ATC delay information, airport slot allocation and air traffic flow statistics for a specific airspace resource in use for a given flight plan route. This information is received in real-time from the regional Flow Management Unit (FMU) and is displayed to assist FPAssistant’s users in their route planning.

Operating Environments

The FPAssistant™ is ideally suited to a variety of operational situations that take advantage of its flexibility and connectivity, for example:

  • Interaction with Air Traffic Flow Management Systems - The FPAssistant™ is ideally suited to the task of managing the flight plan repository in an ATFM center because it can facilitate processing of large volume of flight plans
  • Integration with Air Traffic Control Centers - The FPAssistant™ is a powerful enhancement to ATCs because it assists with the management of the local flight plan repository
  • Aeronautical Information System Room Submissions - The AIS room can use the FPAssistant™ to reduce the number of last minute flight plan rejections, minimizing the chance of errors often created by the operator while editing a route

Features

Flight Plan Operators using the FPAssistant™ benefit from a powerful graphical environment that offers a number of unique capabilities:

  • Maps can be displayed during flight plan creation
  • Interactive airspace resources/objects such as airways, airports and fixes, can be used as a grid to assist with composition of the flight plan
  • Spatial orientation is enhanced by downloading GIS-referenced images that are overlaid on the graphical route display
  • Flight plans created using the FPAssistant™ automatically comply with ICAO rules, respecting the syntax as well as the structure required by the standard
  • Optional composition and export of flight plans in XML format

Customization

FPAssistant AIS can be easily customized to adapt to your project’s specific requirements. FPAssistant AIS architecture was specially designed to facilitate easy integration of legacy systems and simple implementation of new requirements.

Platform

The FPAssistant™ integrates with AmazonTech's GDS and IFPS applications. In local Intranet environments, this connectivity is typically provided using CORBA interfaces. For remote Internet access, AmazonTech also offers XML-based connectivity solutions
